Holistic Hypnotherapists treat the whole person i.e. mind, body and soul.

This means we work with the conscious mind, subconscious mind and the higher self.

The conscious mind is the decision making part that weighs up situations. It is basically the Yes/No part of yourself.

The subconscious mind is the part that controls all automatic responses on all levels i.e. physical, mental and emotional.

Physical     It is responsible for physical reactions and well being

Mental     Automatic thoughts and acquired beliefs such as "I never have any luck"

Emotional     Emotional responses, such as over reacting in certain situations

The higher self is the real you. This is the part that knows what is right for you. This is where inspiration, ideas and motivation come from when you are on the right path. The higher self will also let you know when you are going in the wrong direction by giving you signals such as a pit in the stomach.

Full Analytical Analysis
For any condition that may be psychosomatic, which results in psychological, physiological or behavioural symptoms. Just one root cause can result in multiple symptoms. For example a client may suffer from panic attacks and lack confidence.

Through analysis, the aim is to create harmony within the conscious mind, subconscious mind and the higher self. This is achieved by first locating and then resolving any inner conflict (the root cause). This automatically has a positive long-term effect on the symptom's.

Various other techniques can be incorporated such as NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Inner Child Work, Parts Therapy etc. On average it takes 6 sessions for a course of treatment.

Suggestion Therapy
This therapy is pre-selected positive suggestions and visualisations used singularly for problems that are habit motivated and short-term problems such as interview nerves etc. Positive triggers can be implanted, so that a new pattern of behaviour is created. One session may be all that is required, however top up sessions can be very beneficial too.

Mind Over Matter Self Healing
This form of therapy can be very helpful with any physical ailment. It is designed to help the client to utilise the positive side of their own mind to encourage healing. It can be very helpful with ailments such as: arthritis, poor circulation, sports injuries etc. etc. etc. It can also aid post-operative healing.

It is designed to help you utilise the positive side of your own mind using visualisation to encourage healing based on the theory that energy follows thought. It is now common knowledge that the people who personally persevere in recovery using a positive mind set, do tend to have more improvements. The number of sessions required vary depending of the type of problem. Sometimes one session may be all that is required because I can teach you how to do this for yourself.

 

HYPNOSIS

As the root cause of the problem is usually buried deep in the subconscious mind, this is the part the therapist needs to work with. To achieve this, the therapist requires the client to be totally relaxed, hence the use of hypnosis.

There are many levels of consciousness and the hypnotic state is just one level. Everyone has experienced at least one level of hypnosis because it is a totally natural state. The most common level is when you are slowly waking up or drifting off to sleep. Or maybe when you have been sunbathing and you are just drifting from one thought to another, but you can hear sounds and are still aware of where you are. This is the level of hypnosis I always use: a feeling of total relaxation.

It is the totally natural state of inward focus, but at the same time you are still consciously aware and you are in complete control. The object of the exercise is to have access to both the conscious mind and subconscious at the same time. As the conscious mind is the part that makes decisions and does all the vetting, the client is always aware and is consequently able to make their own decisions.

The method of inducing hypnosis I use relaxes both the body and mind. After experiencing the first session, clients often comment on how they look forward to their subsequent sessions, because they know for one hour per week they will feel completely relaxed and calm.

Q Will I blurt out something embarrassing during Hypnosis?
A No, not if you donít want to.  conscious mind is still active during the session, so you are able to make decisions as to what you do or don¬ít say

Q How quickly do the effects of Hypnosis wear off?
A Most clients return to normal within a few minutes after the session

Q What if I donít think I have been in Hypnosis during the session?
A Everyone is different, some clients do experience sensations such as floating or their arms & legs feel heavy etc., but most clients just feel very relaxed. The good news is the results are the same whether you experience some of these sensations or not

Q How do you know if I am actually in Hypnosis during a session?
A I am trained to observe the client for visible signs e.g. eyelids flickering etc. There are also certain exercises I can carry out to double check

Q Can you guarantee success?
A No, no one can, but the success rate is very high when the client co-operates fully and sees the therapy through to its completion

Q Are there ever any side effects during therapy?
A Occasionally, some clients experience a slight exaggeration of symptoms just prior to their improvement (this is why it is essential to complete the full course of therapy)

Q I have seen another Hypnotherapist before and that didn't work, why?
A It could be for a number of reasons, such as incompatibility between you and the Therapist. There are also many different techniques and approaches, perhaps the particular approach they used did not suit you personally.
